It’s with great pleasure that I can say that we have hosted the South Africa Light Tackle Boat Nationals this past week and it was a success. 103 Anglers took part and 52 boats. Our Senior Team ended 3 overall and the Veterans team second. The Lady and Junior SA’s will be held in April and we hope that this will also be an event to be remembered.
On the down side like always we had some members that were not happy that the club was reserved for the National and wanted to know how much and if SALTBAA has paid for the club to be reserved for them. I did speak to Johan about this and handled it to the best of my ability that no feelings got hurt.
On the up the bonitos are still here and if you have a line in the water you sure to catch one. We hope that they will stay a while because the Saltic is upon us. The Preliminary Date is set for the 14 March 2015
The Boating section is having our meeting on the 25 Feb were development matters will be decided. And to find out who and what is left of the boating committee. Martin was in an accident that will render his off his feet for at least 6 weeks and he will have to go for more operations in the near future we wish him all the best with his recovery. Hannes has been offered a position in Kuruman with Toyota and he will be leaving us soon. We also wish him the best. And last but not least Oom Frans will be moving to Pretoria very soon and it is with great sadness that we will be saying goodbye to him.
With all that we say Stywe Lyne till next month
